About
A small practice, close to its clients
We work with small businesses across North Brisbane — trades, health practices, retailers, consultants, and the people running them.
How we work
Accounting for a small business is mostly about rhythm. The books stay current, the lodgements go in on time, and nothing turns into an emergency because it was left alone for nine months. Most of what we do is keeping that rhythm so you can get on with running the business.
When something does need a decision — a structure change, a hire, a piece of equipment, a quiet quarter — you get a straight answer based on your actual numbers, in plain language, without being sold anything you did not ask about.
We are deliberately small. That means you deal with the person doing your work rather than being handed down a chain, and it means we take on clients we can actually look after properly.
- Fees agreed up front, so an invoice is never a surprise
- Deadlines treated as deadlines
- Questions answered by the person who does your work
- Plain English, with the reasoning shown when it matters
What we care about
Being straight with you
If the numbers are not good, you will hear it from us early and plainly. Nobody is helped by an accountant who softens the picture until it is too late to act on.
Doing it on time
Most of the stress in small business finance comes from lateness rather than complexity. Getting the ordinary things done on schedule removes more worry than any clever piece of advice.
Explaining it once
You should not need an accounting background to understand your own position. If an explanation has not landed, that is on us to fix, and we would rather go through it again than have you nodding along.
Who we tend to work with
Not a rule, just where most of our clients sit.
Trades and contractors
Subcontractor payments, equipment purchases, and income that arrives in lumps rather than evenly.
Health and allied health
Practitioners going out on their own, mixed practice income, and the structure questions that come with it.
Retail and hospitality
Tight margins, real stock, and payroll that has to be right every fortnight.
Consultants and owner-operators
One or two people, straightforward numbers, and no interest in spending an evening on them.
Come and have a chat
No charge, no obligation, and a straight answer about whether we are the right fit.
